Updates for complex login forms from bank feed service deployed
Blog post · 27 Feb, 2012

Updates have been performed on the Bank Feed service which has enhanced the reliability of credential checking for complex login forms. Institutions and banks with more advanced login forms that may have failed previously will now be able to be successfully added to the Bank Feed service.

Background

While the majority of institutions use relatively simple fields in their forms to login to online banking, some use more advanced variations which need to be processed in a different method than normal. These form fields go beyond normal text and password fields, to having other elements such as drop-downs and single fields that have been broken up into multiple parts. For example, some institutions require a date to login with drop-downs and text fields combined, or ask for a Social Security Number in separated fields.

The Bank Feed service has been upgraded to feature newly re-written advanced form processors, which respond differently when required by new form types. Everything is far more flexible now, and new types which are encountered into the future will be able to be added more easily than previously possible.
